ARCS HPC Staff Availability 25 January 2021 through 01 March 2021
Due to a) a time-critical grant proposal preparation, and b) the replacement of the Kong public-access nodes with new public-access nodes in the Lochness cluster, the following guidelines will be in effect during that period:
- The only software requests - HPC-specific and otherwise - that may be considered are those that require a very small amount of time - typically less than one hour - to complete
- Requests for HPC hardware price quotes will be deferred until after 01 March, with the exception of requests of an emergency nature
- HPC hardware failures will be addressed only if they are of an emergency nature
- The migration of users from the Kong cluster to the Lochness cluster is expected to be completed by 12 April 2021 instead of the originally-planned 15 March 2021
- All other tasks of a non-critical or non-emergency nature involving HPC staff will be deferred until after 01 March 2021
